Minister Constance announces significant support for Rainbow Club Australia

On 6 September 2012, Minister Constance, the Minister for Aging and Disability Services, announced that the NSW Government will invest $250,000 in Rainbow Club Australia to promote Rainbow Clubs in NSW. The announcement was made during Rainbow Club at Cook and Philip Pool.

This grant, a one off grant of significant size was championed by the Patron of Rainbow Club Australia, Mark Speakman, the Member for Cronulla. It is intended to help Rainbow Club establish new Clubs in NSW and meet demand for classes in areas where there are wait lists.

Alexandra Finley, President of Rainbow Club Australia, accepted the grant on behalf of RCA. She said: “The funding will not only help to reduce our waiting lists, but will also go a long way towards assisting us in establishing clubs across the state over time – particularly in those areas where children don’t have access to swimming lessons tailored for their needs,”. Ms Finley also recognised the importance of ongoing fundraising to ensure that RCA continues to meet the growing need for Rainbow Clubs.
