Other fundraising

Our present operating budget is approximately $250,000 per annum.

There is no government, either State or Federal, contribution to this amount.

Children with disabilities require specialisation and modification of almost every aspect of their lives. Therefore swimming instruction is no different. Rainbow children require, in most cases, a one to one ratio, as well as an experienced and well-equipped instructor.

Because of these factors our operating costs in relation to instructors wages are extremely high. With some 400 children swimming each weekend we presently employ approximately 70 instructors.

On the administrative side our Chief Operations Officer attends to the supervision of the clubs and the daily requirements of the organisation such as taxation, Department of Gaming & Racing requirements, employee obligations and suchlike.

Rainbow Club Australia Inc now operates similar to a medium sized business and is answerable to all relevant governing bodies.

Rainbow Club is a registered non-profit charity group ( CFN No. 11011 ).

Our major fund raising event each year is a Dinner/Auction. At this function our aim is raise the majority of the required funds for the Organisation.

We have other ventures such as Fun Runs, Corporate Swim Events and Celebrity Golf Days.

We also regularly make applications to various funding bodies and have recently been successful with United Way, The Paul Newman Foundation, North Shore Challenge, Balmain Tigers Leagues Club and Dee Why RSL Club.
